Actually, one of the leading causes of renal issues in pups is dental disease.
Yorkie owners need to be reminded about this because yorkies have tiny mouths and must have dentals in order to prevent dental disease. I have never seen a yorkie that did not need a dental and one of the things I look for in people who apply to adopt from me is if they have done full vetting on their pups which includes dentals.
