I really do not think this is a brain tumor due to age. I think this is neurological possibly GME which runs in this breed and maltese breed. It can be autoimmune related where the body is attacking itself. I have not seen a liver dog lose function of back legs. Those bats are high but not astronomical. I really think this is more neurological than anything else and if the prednisone is helping it then that is a sign it is neurological as it is taking the swelling down on the brain.
