I'd have the vet look at it.
My Emma had a c-section and I had to take her back to the vet 3 times.... she kept developing red areas. It ended up she was having a reaction to the thread they used ... they had to pull it out.... She is all better now.
Evidently there are two types of thread they use... they marked her chart to use the "other" kind in the future.
