The Biewer a la pom pon was bred and further developed in Germany by Mr. & Mrs. Biewer in the 1980's. The color pattern on the breast, belly and legs pure white, and on the head being white-blue-gold, symmetrical colored. For futher information on the Biewer please visit:

The particolored Yorkshire Terrier has 2 or more solid colors of which one must be white. The nose, lips, and eye lids must be pigmented. The pattern is not set in the standard. For more information please visit:

The AKC does not recognize the Biewer but does recognize and register the particolored Yorkshire Terrier as indeed a Yorkshire Terrier with color code of 014. The particolored Yorkshire Terrier although registered and its offspring are registerable is not allowed to be shown because the white is a DQ in the show ring. However, they are shown in other venues.
