I bought the large litter box made by Second Nature. There is doggie litter, but Sydney kept wanting to chew it. I now have washable/disposable wee wee pads lining the box. When it's time to wash, I line the bottom with a disposable pad.

She didn't like the litter box at the start. I first got her use to using the scented disposable pads. Eventually, I got her to use the litter box. Attached is a picture that isn't Sydney's litter box, but it's close to what she uses. My parent's Yorkie puppy (six-months-old) took to the litter box right away.

I used the crate training method to help with the potty training. Now, in the middle of the night, she climbs down the stairs from the bed and goes to her litter box. It's great in the middle of winter. Plus, we have several predators that would make a meal out of her. Also, when I have her in her playpen, she can use the litter box there, too. She is also trained to potty outside and she doesn't get confused.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

Sonya
