I would NOT dock your dogs tail now... it should be done when they are a few days old or not done at all.

I feel the same way about dew claws, my oldest had his done by the breeder... the youngest did not and I did not remove them either... as long as they are attached securely and you keep them cut short, they shouldnt cause an issue.
