Just want to help w/ the speculation. Carol was definitely not banned - she is just no longer a member, at her request. She and Buddy will most certainly be missed.
Similar to what Nancy said, I too wish people would take some time to think things over and/or communicate via PM with others before making decisions such as this. If for nothing else, just to gain another perspective before making a final decision. Of course, we always respect a member's choice to leave and wish them well.
