I also have a teddy bear Yorkie. Her coat was a beautiful black and her legs are blond. When I cut her short at a year old, it did come back grey, but it's ok with me. I was lucky that all three of my Yorkettes house trained easily, but they never had run of the house for the first year, and then it was just a little more area for them at a time for a few more months. I also pad trained them. Now when the rains are too heavy for us to be outside, or when I go anywhere that I can't take them, they use the pads. Also traveling and going into motels isn't a problem with potty breaks. We just put down a couple of pads. I'm not a fan at going outside early mornings or late night at motels.
I was born and raised in Charleston, WV. I have a sister who still lives there.
