Indy (6.5 months old) has an inguinal hernia and she is scheduled to be spayed in June. At her vet appointment today her hernia wouldn't pop out for the vet to re-examine it. She said on the day of her spay she'll take another look at it to see if it should be fixed, as she doesn't want to unnecessarily operate on Indy.
The vet said it's likely that the hernia will heal on its own as she is still growing. My husband and I check Indy several times daily and massage the hernia back in if it's sticking out.
So my question is: has anyone had a puppy with an inguinal hernia that healed on its own? Thanks in advance for everyone's help.
