Actually the standard is to have the silky straight coat, but the cotton coats tend to be thicker and sometimes wavy. Katie, my foster, has a cotton coat, and while it is very thick and luscious, it mats way faster than my Uni, who has a thin, slow growing silky coat. I only need to brush Uni a few times a weeks, whereas Katie is daily.

To the OP, your baby looks beautiful, looks right on schedule to me! (that's my non professional opinion though!)
