I've got one of both styles, only my oblong table is 30" long, not 36". I like them both for different reasons. The small round one is great if I want to groom in my kitchen, or out on the patio. But, I use the oblong table more often, in the grooming room.
I wouldn't think the round one wouldn't be what you wanted at shows, bc you would still need a table to set it on.
May as well get the oblong one and a cart, bc with shows you'll still have your tack box and other things you're carrying around anyway.
