I took my pup to the vet yesterday and he said those kind of growths are common in young puppies. Right now he categorized it as a histiocytoma. He did aspirate and take a portion of it for testing. It was $150 for the exam and everything. I am not sure if you live in major area or not, but when I used to live in MI there was vet clinic at the local university that offered all the services of a vet, without the expense. Once I get the results back I will update you on the final word, since the issues seem very similar.
