I have to put in my 2 cents here also. I had bought a pup with giardia and coccidia. The usual treatment is metronidazole for the giardia and then albon for the coccidia. My vet ,however, no longer prescribes metronidazole for giardia because nine times out of ten it doesn't take care of it. He put her on a new drug called Marquis for the coccidia,2 doses one week apart from each other. And for the giardia Safeguard dewormer for 5-6 days wait 2 weeks and again for another 5-6 days. He told me to buy the one for beef and dairy cow or even the horse Safeguard. Its all the same medication just packaged different and way cheaper than the canine dewormer. You can look it up online to which is what I did. I hope all goes well for you and your plight . |
