I am very quick to tell people that they MAY NOT pick up my yorkies. If they ask why or seem offended, I explain that Missy's already broken her leg once and it cost me $5,000 in vet bills to have it repaired. I'm not willing to risk it happening again. People always seem to understand and I am good about letting everyone pet them (the girls love the attention). I just pick them up so that I don't have to worry about them accidentally getting stepped on or handled too rough. |
