The little man suffered from collapsed trachea and brain damage ... Im unsure as to how, but it was related to the tube being put down the puppies throat. I dont think you should blame yourself at all! I understand feeling terrible, and i can not ask you to not feel that way, because frankly id probably feel the same if my little shia was suffering from the same issues. I think as a pet owner we are called to make some really tough decisions, some which are really life threatening. You did what you felt was right, I just hope that your little girl doesnt suffer the same ultimate fate as your little man did.
Thank you Jazzybee for your comments. It was an ordeal for my little boy to go through and his suffering has never been forgotten by any of us. I would again have any dog spayed and neutered, if I was not going to breed them, as there are other things they are prone to and they are not pretty either. You just try to do the best you can do, but I still wonder about the trachea tubes and who actually inserts them. Would a vet tech do this or the vet and how do they know when to stop pushing it into these little babies? Once the ring/s are damaged there is no going back.
