Abby does this too. I think it is called submissive urination and some vets put dogs on meds for it (like a nerve pill). Abby is 14 months old and she still does it. It's not so bad that I would put her on medication, but it is aggravating. I try to open the door and let her come outside to greet me and then she wets outdoors instead of on the floor. When I take her to my daughter's house (who has two dogs) she gets excited and does it there too. She has done it at the vet's office also. I'm afraid to take her anywhere!

The other day my husband was sick and when I got home he was in bed and Abby was on the bed too. She heard me come in and started barking but I didn't identify myself and she started growling. When she finally realized it was me, she wet all over the bed! I had to wash everything.

Our previous dog was a rat terrier and she had that problem also, but mostly outgrew it. Maybe it's the way we treat our dogs that causes it?
