My personal opinion is to get bats done on 12 hr fast if your dog can handle a 12 hr fast so they can do blood work and pre bile acid test on empty stomach then introduce food then 2 hr on the dog they will pull blood again to see how liver is functioning prior to food and after food is introduced.

He acts normal before and after eating. (both dog foods) He is more playful usually after eating.
