Thank you all so much, once again! We are going to get through this
It still hurts me a little to come here and see all the happy, healthy, playing yorkies, so I'm trying to just stay in this one thread. I will get back to them I know, but it's hard to stay positive when I get to thinking "why me? why us?"
I joined a group full of people caring for IVDD dogs. They know their stuff. They told me to be VERY STRICT with crate rest for the next 8-10 weeks, so that's what we're going to do. She will only be out of her crate for acupuncture, range of motion exercises, and pottying. Then of course, the college will be doing her exercises and water therapy 2 or 3 days a week as well. I know she is going to hate crate rest, but it's the best thing we can do for her right now.
We are also looking at buying her a stroller so we can take her out for walks and she can still enjoy the warm weather with us. I found a cute one online where the compartment detaches and becomes just a carrier, which would be much easier to transport her in than her big wire crate!
Here is a picture of her waking up from a long nap this morning at work, and sticking her tongue out at me
