The pen is mesh with a zippered top and bottom.

I got it from ebay for about 46.00. if you yorkie is anything like mine she will try to escape. I never put her in through the zippered side doors because that's the way she will try to escape. I only put her in through the top. I love it because it's mesh and so far, it's the only pen she has not been able to escape, not to mention it's a lot safer than the metal cages. The mesh sides slope a little bit when pushes up against it. I love this pen and would recommend it to anybody with a small breed dog.
