Maybe Gracie and Simon are related
I have had this problem off and on with Simon for a long time. I started teaching him the command Quiet and rewarding him with a treat when he was quiet. THis worked for awhile but then we moved so I had to start over. I spoke with a trainer and she suggested using a clicker but I found that too noisy for my apartment building and started using a squirt bottle of water. When he would start to bark out the window or at me I would tell him quiet and if he didn't stop I'd squirt him(from a standing position so it wasn't directly at him) and he HATES the bottle. Now I tell him quiet and just reach for the water bottle and he stops. I don't know if this is helpful and if you find something else please let me know.....
