However, I did have to watch the news story last night. They interviewed a gentleman who had some kind of terrier (I am not certain what kind but it was definitely a terrier). A vet was also interviewed. His name was not given but he did say that debarking is not always the best solution because the procedure could actually make the dog bark louder or higher pitched. He also said that the debarking procedure (which is cutting of the vocal chords) could also affect the dog's ability to fend off illness.

WOW - that amazes me too - 22 liters ? of course he barked - poor dog - I hate hearing how some people treat their pets. It's just cold hearted.
I hear a dog barking all day at my work - they just leave the poor thing in the yard and he's lonely...some days I want to go over there and tell them to pay attention to him and let him inside ! ....but don't want to get beat up
