Just to make sure that my post isn't confusing, I want to make it clear that no, this coloring you are looking for is not rare. But the only way to guarantee that a puppy will stay dark is to get one that has already retained that coloring. I hope no one gave you the impression of rarity for either the tiny ones, or a dark coated ones. Greedy breeders tend to take advantage of someone that thinks certain traits are rare by charging an unknowing buyer that since their pup is rare, they can charge the buyer an arm and a leg.
