I think you are feeding him fine, especially since he is a healthy weight and an active dog.

I was told by my breeder that the amount on the bag is slightly higher than what she would recommend, (i guess because the company wants you to go through it faster???). I'm not sure about this, but it would only effect it a little.

Lucas is 6 lbs and has 1/2 cup per day. I think you're doing fine!
