Red98vett - I have read about the puppy millers and almost posted something about them as well with my original post but decided against it. I agree, the millers are much worse!
However, I did have to watch the news story last night. They interviewed a gentleman who had some kind of terrier (I am not certain what kind but it was definitely a terrier). Any way, this guy says that his dog is 13 years old and when he first got him, he barked and barked and barked and the neighbors would complain and called the police on him. So he had his vet debark him. At the end of the segment, this guy made a comment that his 13 year old dog has sired 22 litters.

Ya think your pup may have been barking because he smelled a female in heat somewhere????
A vet was also interviewed. His name was not given but he did say that debarking is not always the best solution because the procedure could actually make the dog bark louder or higher pitched. He also said that the debarking procedure (which is cutting of the vocal chords) could also affect the dog's ability to fend off illness.
Some people amaze me....
