Thank you all so much for your caring replies. We talked this morning and we're definitely going to wait until January to start really looking. That gets us through the holidays and gives us some time to grieve.
I definitely don't want a carbon copy of Kelli, she was one of a kind and I don't want to taint her memory by going out and finding another dog to replace her whether it be in looks or personality, because she can't be replaced. She had her own quirks and habits that we're just now starting to laugh some over, instead of just constant crying.
I still cry, and probably will for some time to come, but I don't want to wait years to feel the joy of another yorkie either. I never knew how completely special they were until we met Kelli. |
