If you are talking about preop bloodwork, then absolutely yes.
If it's just checking things out, then sure, couldn't hurt and may alert you to things. Absolutely necessary at least once yearly when they turn 6 or 7. Bile acids testing for Yorkies that appear healthy should not be done until at least 20 weeks.
