I have NO idea. All I know is they would find them on their patio sometimes. They said that they were coming out because of all of the digging.
You might want to google it. I just did, but sorry I could not look at the sites because of the pics. They just creep me out!
I really think they are basically harmless if left alone, but I don't know what they might do if a pup would bother them.
