It has a mesh top that zips on, though I don't use it because Roxie hasn't tried to jump out of it yet. She actually loves it. It's like her little house. Her toys, blankets, and bed are in it, and that's where she sleeps at night.

Before the ex-pen, I had her gated in the kitchen while I was out of the house. I had gates that didn't have any mesh, and had vertical bars that she couldn't climb.

I HAVE to get one of those! OH MY GOSH! I think this could be the answer to my problems with what to do with my boys when they get soo riled up in the summer with the pool... I can plop them in here for a bit to calm down and not have to bring them in the house on a beautiful day away from the people and kids they love so much. (they bark non-stop for hours and hours when the kids run around the pool!)
