I just started morgan on Acana too. We scored at the feed store and got six 1lb trial size bags for free.
so we have two of each flavor. Morgan loves it and has no problem with the kibble size. If she did i'd probably go with the meat tenderizer method to break them up. I too do that with ice in a baggie.
