Those side effects, by the way. are those recorded in Women who take the hormone as a treatment for infertility - taking it for that purpose is in a MUCH stronger dosage than for the weight loss (something like 100 times the dosage as for the diet).
My doctor (and I have read it elsewhere) is that the only possible side effect of the diet (when done properly) is gal stones, and not from the HCG but from your body processing out so much fat.
Oh, and my mom did the diet with me and my hubby, and she had her thyroid removed years ago. She is also missing a kidney thanks to cancer. But, she did amazing on the diet and feels better now than she has in years.
