Both. I'm fortunate that all of mine can eat it with no problem, but there are some members who break it up for their babies. Britster linked a thread that talks about a lot of this.
I want to add, I hesitated to try Acana because I was afraid the kibble would be too large. Now that I've been feeding it a few months and have seen how well the whole gang is doing on it - I know it would be worth it to me to have to break up the kibble for every one of my babies if that's what it took. They, and I, LOVE Acana!
