Not sure if this will help but Kasha HATED being left alone when we brought her home @ 12 weeks. She would freak if left in the bathroom with me while showering ... ect. Her cries were so loud ( or perhaps I'm such as sucker) that she now sleeps in bed with me for the most part. I've found that if I need to put her in "her home" (crate) if I put her to bed just like you might a baby, she will settle down after a few mins. I talk to her and let her know she's going "nightnight" and stick my hand in the crate. I feel like this is less mean than ignoring her but still firm.
Also, the need to be with you all the time has very much gotten better. I give Kasha Kong toys stuffed with frozen peas and carrots when I eat dinner, she goes nuts and is tired enough to leave us alone after finishing her treat. Hope this helps!
