Hello & welcome to YT. I agree with tammy8833 on the approximate due date and about seeing or feeling movement is a sign that she is not to far from whelping. If I remember correctly, I saw/felt movement on my pregnant female about 10-14 days before she whelped........closer to 10 days I think.
I don't know what the cost of an x-ray is where you live, but would think about getting one done. Not only do they give you a pretty good count of how many pups to expect (so you know when she is done), but also the vet will be able to tell by the size of the skulls whether or not she will be able to pass them okay through her pelvic area. I've had 3 litters so far, a litter of 4, a singleton, and just recently a litter of 3. The x-ray showed that the singleton was a large puppy and the skull/pelvic ratio was very close. Knowing that ahead of time I was able to prepare myself and my female for the possibility of a difficult whelp. Thankfully, she had him with very little difficulty.
Good luck to you and keep us posted. |
