I have a big kennel, breeder said to get one when I first got Shay, so I could put a lil litterbox with a puppy pad in the back...so if he needed to go at night, he could..it worked like a charm. But mine are puppy pad trained.
you know, that's a good idea, at least she couldn't climb out of it, but i think i'm gonna start to crate train her, so i need to minimize her space ... she uses the puppy pad in the back of the pen and then does everything she can to cover it up ... sometimes she acts just like a CAT!!!

Even with a top, if they can still climb, they can fall and get a foot stuck, and be left hanging upside down for a long time until you find them. At best, they will have leg damage, but at worst they will pass out and die from hanging upside down.
so true, yes, it makes me very nervous that she could hurt herself, so i put heavy cardboard on top of the pen before i left this morning ... AND SHE GOT OUT AGAIN!!!! she's a little houdini, i tell ya
