I just picked up my little 8 week old bundle of joy on saturday (2 days ago) and the breeder told me that he was the crier of the litter and the biggest one. she also said that he likes to bite and squirm.

My worries are that when I pick him up he is fine in my arms, but when I try to pet him or pick him up when he is down he gets scared or backs away. Are these early signs that Bently is not going to bond well with me?

also, how can I tell the difference between play biting and a defense? And how can I stop hard play biting?
