I think, just like you said, everyone just has a preference.
I prefer the bigger ones, above 8lbs. For my lifestyle, that size just works, I don't think I could handle any smaller. Sometimes I wish the Yorkie had classifications like the Poodle... maybe like a 3-7lb range and then an 8-13lb range or something. I just love the bigger Yorkies. I love having the Yorkie personality in a big package!
