I have my puppies papers to turn in, but heres the thing, I don't know why I would want to. To me those papers told me he was breed by two a.k.c. dogs and he should be of some quality...(what level is always questionable) and it doesn't really matter what quality he is as long as he's healthy.
I also have a JRT that is akc and I never turned in those papers either b/c she was also fixed and never shown.
Should his papers be filed anyways for some type of benefit in the long run?

So have you haven't you and why or why not?
Having an AKC dog, gives you some reassurance, should there be any question of a dogs lineage, you have the AKC's backing.

However, registering your dog does support AKC, you automatically become a member. As a pet owner, you will have a voice in legislation that may affect your pet ownership.....

By the way you maynot have the ability to show your dog in conformation events (if your dog is spay/nuetered), but should you desire you can always compete in companion dog events.
