It may be due to Troy's "bugging" him. I remember reading on YT about aggressive playing and someone cautioned that you should not play aggressively with them as it can make them aggressive. I'm sure if you search, you can find lots of info on it. I know the training books say you should not play tug of war with them, because they growl and act aggresively - and when you let go, they win - which makes them think they are dominant over you. It takes time for the aggression to develop, but it can from a simple game of tug of war.
