As I said before, Animal Control is totally different than the SPCA or private rescue groups. Our Animal Control here has a 23% adoption rate. The rest are euthanized. They are not picky about where the pets go because any home is preferable to being put to sleep.
Since they run on our tax dollars, they also don't have the manpower to spend making endless phone calls checking references. Our local AC uses people who have been convicted of a crime and on probation to work there.
I am actually surprised that the YTCA Rescue or another rescue wasn't contacted when this dog was brought in. That's what usually happens with purebred dogs. |
