I was exactly getting my period every 28 days until last year . . .I missed my period completely in January and it didn't show up until the middle of February . . .I was 41 at the time . . .my sister's joked with me and told me I was pregnant, etc etc . . .even though I knew I wasn't I bought a pregnancy test anyhow . . .I called my Obgyn who I just saw in October and he wasn't too concerned . . .when it finally did arrive, it didn't leave . . .my usual 7 day period was going on 14 days with no signs of stopping. I called my obgyn and he sent me for a blood test (pregnancy of course) to rule out miscarriage . . .I don't know how many times I told them I wasn't pregant that it wasn't even possible since my husband had gotten his vasectomy in 1995 . . .apparently, everyone must of thought I fooled around or something . . . He also told me that it could be because my body was getting ready for the change . . .another 2 weeks go by . . .still bleeding . . .he examines me and says that my uterus is enlarged and the lining is extremely thick . . .he scheduled me for a D&C . . .finally, after 6 weeks of bleeding! That was last April . . .thankfully, my periods have been back to the 28 day cycle thing . . .I'm hoping it stays that way . .. I have no idea what could of caused what happened . . .and my obgyn says there isn't any guarantee it won't happen again . . .
