Hmmm... Many yorkies do have liver issues but the way to test for that is a Bile Acid Test and he would have had to draw blood, feed your dog, wait a few hours and draw blood again... if you didnt leave your dog then there is no way he did BATs.
He probably just did a complete CBC which test many different things... this is a very good thing to have done anyway, especially before your dog ever undergoes any type of surgery.
