Dogs begin to get a sense for what is their property. For instance when we got to a park or mall (public place); Miley doesnt growl at anybody or any dog. She understands that the park is for everybody to enjoy.
But if she sees someone through the window at our house, she growls to protect what is ours. She knows that the house is her family's place and nobody is going to get by her. When we ride in the car, she sometimes growls and people walking on the sidewalks...she just doesnt want anybody to get her mommy.
I always have to tell her that I am okay and that she is a good girl for protecting me. Once i tell her its okay..she stops her growling and kisses me. |
