My Theo has the same problem with eye staining. I use baby wipes now to gently clean his eyes and they work like a charm. Please be cautious if you buy commercial dog tear solutions. Where I live, in Oman, choice of top dog brands/products is limited at best. I picked up one brand - the only one they had - at the local pet store and was shocked that the key ingredient was borax acid. Borax acid! Not for my baby's eyes!
