I work for a before and after school program and one of the kids (he's 7 or 8) said something today that really bothered me. He told me that he wanted to get a dog so he could put a shock collar on it and shock it when it's being bad. I told him that you can train a dog to do things without being mean to them and he goes, "Well, I don't like dogs anyway". It made me sad because he had to learn this from somewhere. I'm assuming his parents don't like animals and that who he got this from. I also find it really disturbing when kids feel the need to hurt animals... I think that can be a really bad sign.
