Wow...this is funny to me only because for the first 3 months after I got Harley, "the warden" was what my family called me! No kidding... Haha... Although I was a tough mama, it totally paid off in the end. She was fully potty trained in 5 months and now at 1 year old, she has complete run of the house when I'm at work and is a complete doll baby. I agree that there are alternatives to crate training, but what works for one dog may not work for another. For us, crate training was the best method and I don't regret one second of it. Good luck in whatever you choose...
