Since the vet found nothing wrong, it's good to let him try to nurse before feeding. His mouth should be opened wide around the nipple and he should be working it. Sometimes they can fool you and be on the nipple but not getting anything. Check his belly to make sure he got full. When I've done this, I always have the formula ready and offer some anyway to see if they will take it.

At this stage, he needs to eat every 2 hours and about 1 cc per ounce of weight (a full dropper is 1 cc). Since he missed some feedings, he may need to be fed more often for a couple of times to get him on track. If he doesn't latch on and nurse, you will need to feed him around the clock. He cannot go all night without eating.

Here's a pic that shows a pup nursing well. You'll see that he's working the teat and his tongue is wrapped around and locked on it.
