My son suggested to us a technique that hte Dog Whisperer uses. To restrain the Pup until he submits. I have tried it and it breaks my heart to do it. I held him down for 15 minutes until he surrendered. It did seem to help but I don't want to break his spirit or damage him mentally. Is this an O.K. thing to do?
Please help me | I don't like the restraining technique, at all...Apple did this, when she was little, and I used to holler "ouch", real loud, and left the room, for a few minutes (about 1 or 2, at the most)...Then I would come back, and she would play and start the biting...I would leave, again (there was a gate, so she couldn't get to me) and come back...It didn't take her long to figure out I wasn't hanging around, if she bit me...She NEVER bites me now...Welcome to YT |
