My Faith was spayed and had 14 baby teeth pulled a little over a month ago. She was 10 months old and 3 pounds. She did great. She was rather miserable the day of her surgery, but the next morn she was up and acted totally normal, except for being a little more sleepy than usual. I brought her home the afternoon of the surgery.

Has your baby's adult teeth come in yet? If not, maybe you should consider holding off a month or two, so she could have her baby teeth pulled at the time of her spay. Yorkies are notorious for not losing their baby teeth and they can then be pulled at the time of spay, so they don't have to be put under at a later date for teeth. She would likely lose some baby teeth on her own, but very likely have some that won't come out on their own.

Is the reason for keeping her over night because she is having the hernia repair also? Is it a 24 hour care clinic? If not, there would be no one there to know if she had problems during the night. All three of mine have come home they day of surgery and always seemed to rest better being in their familiar surroundings. It's just my opinion, but I feel they do better being with their loved ones at home, than spending the night in the hospital.

Best wishes to you for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I know that nervous feeling...hugs to you!
