Probably depends on you...the person carrying the dog
A friend of mine has a 5lb. dog and has no problem carrying her. I wanted a smaller one because I have neck issues and an extra pound in my purse is very noticable.
Not all smaller Yorkies have health problems. They do require extra care and are not for everyone. They can't live in a purse
