Her head tilted left, she could walk only in left circles, her eye sight was affected, she could not go up or down stairs and had trouble eating. At the advice of our vet we took her to the NC Vet teaching Hospital in Raleigh NC. After numerous tests including and MRI and a spinal tap they came to the conclusion that she had an inflamatory brain disease not caused by infection.
Another name is idiopathic encephalitis. She was given a intervaineious Cytosar treatment overnight. Every 3 weeks she will need injections.
She was sent home with Prednisone and Cyclosporine to be given daily.
We are happy to say her condition is much improved. She wants to run around and play again although somewhat awkwardly. Her eyesight is still not right but she seems to be compensating quite well. Her quality of life has improved and we hope it will continue. Time will tell. Has anyone had any experience similar to this if so I would be interested in hearing your story
There's another thread on Roriee on the sick and injured forum. She is undergoing the same treatment that your girl is. From what I have read, though I have no first hand experience on it. It does strike pups at the age your girl is. The other little girl is still a pup.

Granulomatous Meningoencephalitis
